Dublin Airport Authority
Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is an airport operator with more than 3,200 employees and 2008 revenues of EUR 631 million
Headquartered at Dublin Airport, DAA's jurisdiction extends to Cork and Shannon airports, domestic and international airport retail management, and airport investment. Onsite in Dublin are approximately 13,000 employees, nearly 2,000 of whom are employed by DAA. Ground handlers, airline staff, and maintenance staff all form part of the large team that help to run the airport. Additionally, a new terminal is being built in Dublin requiring 2,200 construction workers, the health and safety of these workers must also form part of DAA's risk management strategy.
Gaining Altitude at the Dublin Airport Authority
Previously, DAA made use of manual systems and relied on their loss adjustors for information. DAA now uses RiskConsole to identify trends in areas where there are increased exposures, including terrorism, public liability, and employer liability.
In developing an enhanced risk management strategy, DAA's goal was to facilitate their own access to data and to develop an understanding of the underlying trends, as well as to evaluate the speed of claim settlements. This has allowed DAA to reformulate their approach to claim handling. Rather than work to each individual claim, they can now look at multiple claims and alert themselves early to potential exposures.
RiskConsole stores all information in one place, giving DAA unprecedented access to their data. RiskConsole has also been the catalyst for a review and re-launch of DAA's internal processes and procedures, which have improved significantly since the claims and renewals operations were integrated.
